Simply open the ball, fill with your herbs, and place it in your cup or your pot. Make one cup at a time or a 4-cup pot! It's made out of durable stainless steel and will easily fit in all teacups & coffee mugs and will fit in most small teapots. It is 2 1/2" round. Dishwasher safe too. For brewing beer, you can easily remove the hinge ring, as this is the only part that isn't stainless, and replace it with stainless steel wire.
