It's made out of durable stainless steel and will easily fit in all teacups & coffee mugs and will fit in most small teapots. It is 3" round. Dishwasher safe too. For brewing beer, you can easily remove the hinge ring, as this is the only part that isn't stainless, and replace it with stainless steel wire.
